Aesculap Favorita II - £295
We recommend the Aesculap Favorita II for exceptional top of the range performance. The Rolls Royce of clippers, the Aesculap Favorita II has excellent build quality and power, and will glide through the thickest of dog coats. It’s a mains powered clipper, and is very reliable. Its unique tensioning system means that its blades don’t need to be sharpened as often, but it’s worth noting that this clipper is only compatible with the Aesculap Favorita blades, and not the popular A5 blade system.

Heiniger Saphir - £320
For quiet, low vibration cordless clipping the Heiniger Saphir brings home all the prizes. Being cordless, they are particularly manoeuvrable which is great when you’ve got smaller dogs coming into the salon. They are very powerful and extremely quiet. We often recommend the Heiniger Saphir for those with more nervous dogs, or who aren’t used to clipping due to the low vibration and lack of noise. These clippers use the A5 snap on blade system, so there is a wide variety of finishes available.

- Nervous or young dogs that need quiet clippers
- Professionals that may need to travel (Cordless)
Why we like them
- Very quiet and smooth running
- Powerful cordless clipping
- Very reliable with an excellent build quality
